Christianity A judge has banned a family from having the Freemasons square and compass emblem etched into the gravestone of a Freemason who died after devoting much of his life to the organization. William Kenneth Wilson, who died in July and who had devoted more than 40 years to Freemasonry is buried in the church yard at the 12th century Grade 1 listed St Oswald’s Church at Dean in Cumbria. His niece, Mrs Dorothy Stubbs, had appealed to the Church of England’s Consistory Court, which has to approve matters such as what is put on gravestones, for permission to have the Freemason’s square and compass emblem put on her uncle’s stone. He had held major offices with the Freemasons and been a Provincial Grand Master representing the country at home and abroad on a number of occasions. There are an estimated six million Freemasons world-wide and the Grand Master in his country is the Duke of Kent who is a cousin to both the queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The Parochial Church Council for St Oswald’s had no objections to the emblem being included on the gravestone. Some believed that Masonic rituals were blasphemous because God’s name must not be taken in vain, nor can it be replaced by an amalgam of the names of pagan deities. A curator poses with Masonic badges, known as “Jewels” during a press preview for the opening of a gallery titled ‘Three Centuries of English Freemasonry’ at the Library and Museum of Freemasonry on September 28, Credit: Mr Hodgson had pointed out that the emblem was to be found on gravestones throughout the area area. And Mrs Stubbs argued that it was extremely difficult to understand why, as a badge or insignia of the Armed Forces of the Crown is permitted on gravestones, the Set Square and compass, which she said was “inoffensive” should not be.
A Page About Masonry: Questions: Difficult Questions About Freemasonry
Grand Lodge Grand Lodges and Grand Orients are independent and sovereign bodies that govern Masonry in a given country, state, or geographical area termed a jurisdiction. There is no single overarching governing body that presides over worldwide Freemasonry; connections between different jurisdictions depend solely on mutual recognition. The largest single jurisdiction, in terms of membership, is the United Grand Lodge of England with a membership estimated at around a quarter million.
Each Grand Lodge maintains a list of other Grand Lodges that it recognises.
In the museum there are artifacts, murals, paintings, sculptures, and vehicles.
For more information, see: The cause of human progress and human freedom is our cause. Here is some basic information which should address the question: You’ll find Masons meeting in almost every town and village and – except where repressive governments make their existence difficult – they’re readily found. None of these lodges was ever organized as a result of any type of ‘missionary’ work: What is SO often misunderstood is a simple fact: While they are stated in slightly different words in various jurisdictions and a few jurisdictions may have one or two requirements beyond these , they basically are as follows: Being a man, freeborn, of good repute and well-recommended; A belief in a Supreme Being; Ability to support one’s self and family; Of lawful age; and Come to Freemasonry of their “own free will and accord”.
Freemasonry is an initiatic experience. You can’t become a Mason by reading a book or by hanging out on the internet.

It is composed of those whose intellectual and spiritual perceptions have revealed to them that civilization has secret destiny. The outcome of this ‘secret destiny’ is a World Order ruled by a King with supernatural powers. This King was descended of a divine race; that is, he belonged to the Order of the Illumined [Illuminati] for those who come to a state of wisdom then belong to a family of heroes-perfected human beings.
Freemasonry, with its mystical overtones and origins dating back to the Middle Ages, held a fascination for the cognoscenti.
If a star exploded in BCE, then there wouldn’t be any kind of radio signature. Radio waves, like other radiant energy, travel “at” the speed of light. If the star was seen from the earth in 4 K BC, then that is when the radio signature reached the earth, too. So I can’t see what your author would be talking about. Is there a dark object emiting radio waves from the point in the heavens he’s talking about?
You have to be pretty careful with ancient accounts, too. They didn’t differentiate between meteors literally “falling stars” and supernovae. The masonic blazing star is a conceptual symbol, and isn’t located anywhere specific in the heavens, as far as I’ve ever heard. I am also unaware of any particular “masonic connection” with the almanac. There are several alamanacs. I have several almanacs, and I am a mason.
Maybe I’M the connection. As I stated in the first post of this thread, my grandfather who was at one time a Mason always kept a farmer’s almanac.

The fact that few actually know all of the words, let alone their meaning, has rarely stopped anyone from joining in. However, now is your chance to be well-informed and in tune with these facts about the song: Robert Burns didn’t invent Auld Lang Syne as we know it The Scottish Bard wrote many wonderful pieces of original verse, but this was not among them. Instead, he was the first person to write down a much older Scottish folk song.
It was only 26 years later, having retired on a gold-plated police pension, that he was forced to admit this was the ‘direct cause’ of the tragedy and that he had lied to save his own skin.
Tuingile mipempe; Nga bakolwe. We are going in as through a tunnel into a dark place. We are going in like monkeys. The Canonbury conferences have established themselves as a landmark of the masonic year in Britain. Held on the first weekend of November, the final papers of each day are invariably accompanied by the cracks and bangs of fireworks being launched into the Islington night. Like the fireworks, the Canonbury conference is part of the ritual which, for the growing band of those fascinated by research and discussion concerning the cultural and social significance of Freemasonry, marks the transition from autumn to winter.
It seems fitting to spend those first long dark evenings of the year contemplating and debating with old and new friends at Canonbury the many facets of that elusive yet constantly compelling and intriguing phenomenon, Freemasonry. The Canonbury conferences explore the manifold social, cultural and intellectual connections and contexts of Freemasonry. The conference took a noticeably wider theme than previous events, but one which in the popular imagination of the modern western world is peculiarly associated with Freemasonry: The conference attracted a wealth of interesting and thought-provoking papers, which you can share here.
The names of the writers convey something of the qualities which make the Canonbury conferences memorable experiences for all those who attend them.

As recorded in the 11th and 12th chapters of the Book of Judges, enough is given to glorify her as one of the noblest heroines of Biblical history. Jephthah, leader of the Israelites east of Jordan in war against the Ammonites, promised God that he would make a special offering of his daughter if he should win the war. Upon returning home from the victory, he was met by dancing girls and a celebration, and where he announced the vow he had made to God, that his only daughter, Adah, would be dedicated to perpetual virginity, by which she was forbidden marriage and the bearing of children.
Adah in filial devotion to her father, with heroic courage, in self-dedication to the Lord of Hosts, expressed a noble and generous dedication to her fate. She was the second point in the Star used for ritual purposes, was a young woman of Moab, and one of the most beautiful characters of sacred history. The reason for Naomi, mother-in-law of Ruth, going into the foreign land of Moab was a severe draught in the vicinity of Bethlehem and a dire famine.
Instead of adopting the idolatry of Moab, they influenced their neighbors to respect the true God and the religion of the Israelites. No children were born to those two sons of Naomi. Naomi and her two daughters-in-law were left widows and continued to live together in perfect understanding and sympathy. After an absence of ten years Naomi decided to return to her native land of Bethlehem, and Orpah listened to Naomi and remained in Moab, but Ruth insisted on going back to Bethlehem with Naomi where she married a nobleman, and became an ancestress of king David and Jesus Christ.
The nobleman she married was Boaz, in whose fields she labored to support her and Ruth, the mother-in-law, for some time. Entreat me not to leave thee, Or return from following after thee: Where thou diest, will I die, And there will I be buried; The Lord do so to me, and more also, If ought but death part thee and me.

I am really sorry, but beyond your having had an affair with a Mason who left you, I simply cannot fathom what it is you are talking about. If your having had a failed relationship with a Mason means to you that the entire practice of Freemasonry is corrupt, then consider that people in failed relationships have also been doctors, plumbers, artists, secretaries, merchants, firemen, pilots, university professors and a thousand other groups.
Are they all ‘currpt’ too? Freemasonry does not approve of extramarital affairs, nor of any other immoral act. The Craft is however – like every other group – composed of human beings, fallible individuals. To judge all by the actions of one is silly. Aug 14, HEY! AVA I struggled with the idea of masons, secrets, infidelity, etc, etc, if you have good communication with your husband there should be no problem on the Masonic side. Find the time to connect and all will prosper.

Michael Arce Within each degree, the instruction on the Working Tools is one of the most beautifully written parts of ritual. In the first degree the use of the inch gauge continues to fascinate me. The eighteenth letter in the English and other Western alphabets- The word Resh signifies forehead and in the Phenician and hieroglyphic character is presented as in the illustration. Compare this with the Hebrew letter. Its numerical value is , and the equivalent as a name of God is Rahum, signifying clemency. A significant word in the advanced Degrees. With the reveries of the Jewish teachers was mingled the Egyptian, the Arabic, and the Grecian doctrines.
From the Egyptians, especially, Rabbinism derived its allegorical and symbolic mode of instruction. Out of it sprang the Therapeutists and the Essenian9; and it gave rise to the composition of the Talmud, many of whose legends have been incorporated into the mythical philosophy of Speculative Freemasonry. This it is that makes Rabbinism an interesting subject of research to the Masonic student. As a significant word in the advanced Degrees, it has been translated a most Excellent Master, and its usage by the later Jews will justify that interpretation.
Buxtorf Talt mudic Lexicon tells us that about the time of Christ this title arose in the School of Hillel, and was given to only seven of their wise men who were preeminent for their learning. Jahn Biblical Archeology, page says that Gamaliel, the preceptor of Saint Paul, was one of these. They styled themselves the children of wisdom, which is an expression very nearly corresponding to the Greek. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.

March 31, Internet reports were all tongue-in-cheek amazed at the rapidity of this new development in the American-government-backed so-called spontaneous uprising of oppressed people. Clearly the war for international bank governance is being waged in Libya as elsewhere. And with control of banking and finance comes control of natural resources such as oil.
At least up to now the country of Libya has controlled its own currency and banking.
The first and inevitable suggestion was a Trinity subject, so common in sculptures stained glass, and on monumental brasses The usual Trinity is a design of God the Father sups porting the Son upon the Cross, with the Holy Spirit added in the form of a Dove.
Yes the ancients went way off track and became spiritually destructive and lost worshipping golden idols of a bull as the place of their origins as God, when they should have just remembered it with honour, not as God Creation but simply as their place of beginnings. In this article it will be referred to as the: Over the past few years, Freemasons have come from all over the world, quite conspicuously one might add, to attend my pyramid star map talks.
Some very interesting comments were made in private conversations that transpired after the talks. A number of people told me that they had always known that the stars my research focuses on are extremely important. They also admitted that they had never realised exactly why they were so important until now. Especially since it would seem that virtually all the ancient civilisations venerated these particular stars in some sort of a genesis theme.
