With summer approaching, Eileen was working hard on her flower garden. As I saw her walking all the way up to the house and out to the yard to fill up her watering can several times in a row, inspiration struck. Why not set up a type of water reservoir by her garden?
So what I did since it is too cold to let the water warm up is turn the water on bypass a day before.
Learn More How To Use a Blow Bag to Clear a Drain A blow bag is a heavy duty rubber bladder that attaches to a hose, is inserted into a drain and uses water pressure to clear a clogged drain. Blow bags are very effective for clearing slow or completely clogged drains. They can be effective in situations where drain snakes are not, like on greasy or gooey clogs.
The bladder is like an uninflated balloon. It fits easily into a drain pipe. When the water is turned on, the bladder inflates with water and wedges itself in the pipe. The bladder then releases pulses of pressurized water to blast away and push clogs out of the pipe and into the sewer. Drain snakes rotate a sharp blade or other tip attachment to break up clogs. However, greasy and gooey clogs just let the snake pass right through.

Low-Cost Grey Water Irrigation A reader explains how waste water collected from your kitchen sink can become the feed source for a grey water irrigation system in your vegetable garden. By Dana Cohen A simple, portable grey water irrigation system for a small garden. I started by looking into rain barrels as a way to cache water and was amazed at how expensive they were.
Of course that means you will need to keep a close eye on Uncle Lenny when he’s out in the kitchen, but that isn’t asking too much.
Your sink won’t drain properly? Well, your not alone! By Cliff Maurand I have heard many stories from various pop-up campers about how their sink won’t drain properly. And having experienced this first hand for myself, I know where they are coming from. On several occasions, I had a long garden hose attached to the sink drain outlet on the side of my Starcraft, and it fed directly to an in-line sewer hook-up, complete with small hose attachment hardware.
And from that point on, I spent the rest of the weekend trying to figure out why I kept finding standing water in the sink. I’d go out and check the hose for kinks, and none were ever found.

Trailer Kitchen Specials … … This bit below I wrote about three years ago, now march Most of my customers are buying or have a camping trailer, so this might be of interest. It can get very confusing.
The price was certainly cheap enough but the shipping was almost the same cost of the item so I went ahead and got two – one for my wifes closet and one for mine and glad I did.
Connecting a Washing Machine to a Kitchen Sink I’m an apartment-dweller, and I managed to inherit a washing machine and dryer no more collecting quarters and trips to the laundromat–yay! But there are no hookups in my apartment boo! This is my solution to this problem. Note that I never signed anything in my lease forbidding me to have a washing machine–you might want to check your own lease for details.
Also, my downstairs neighbors are cool with their dishes rattling when I do laundry. Extension Hoses None of the hoses that came with the washer are long enough to reach the sink. The supply hose is female hose fitting both ends –I just cobbled one together out of plastic hose repair fittings and clear braided tubing all available from Home Depot. I secured it with a hose clamp.

Can you see through these real-life optical illusions? A utility sink is, as the name implies, a useful thing to have in a home or garden. People may have small rooms, especially located near front or back doors, where they have a utility sink installed. These sinks can vary in price and design, but usually have a much wider and deeper basin than the average kitchen sink. Others use them for a variety of household tasks.
For instance, the utility sink may be the perfect place to water plants that need a good soaking. Instead of getting plant dirt and matter all over a sink or bathtub, you can place potted plants in the utility sink. Especially large utility sinks may be the perfect place to wash cats or dogs.

The kitchen faucet can be a great source of water for your hose, whether it is for gardening purposes or washing. Plug-In Installing a dishwasher in a kitchen that never had one calls for careful planning. In addition to water, power and drainage, there are design issues to consider such as kitchen traffic patterns and space requirements. To avoid problems down the road, spend some time thinking about your new dishwasher — especially how and where to hook it up.
Choose a Location The farther you move a dishwasher from a standard installation, the less convenient it is to use and the more it will cost to install in terms of materials and labor. That’s why in most respects the ideal place for a dishwasher is on one side or the other of the kitchen sink, within easy access of existing water and drain lines. In fact, those two spots are so desirable you’re usually better off moving or at least shrinking cabinet space to make room for the new appliance.
The second-best place is as close to the sink as possible without committing a design faux pas such as colliding doors or blocking pathways. Another suitable location is in an island directly behind or across from the sink, although the plumbing is more complex. Create Space Read the owner’s manual for the dishwasher to determine the size of opening you’ll need to create beneath the countertop. If you’re still in the shopping phase, most major manufacturers also have rough-in dimensions on their websites.
Armed with this information, you can try different locations on for size, then have the space framed and ready prior to installation.
How to Replace the Hose on a Moen Single Handle Pull
Pick up key parts at the hardware store before you start Photo 1: Remove the drain lines from the faucet Disconnect the drain lines and P-traps if they block your access to the faucet and water supply pipes. Place a bucket or coffee can under the P-trap to dump residual water after you pull it free. If the faucet still drips, install new ones.
So, ultimately, if a clog has to be cleared, it has to be cleared and there is always a risk that additional repairs will become necessary.
When I have water in my fresh water tank and I run the pump and faucets, I see water coming out my city water hook up connection. This did not happen last year. The most likely cause is a bad back-flow check valve. This check valve is there to prevent water that is held in your fresh water holding tank from back flowing out through your city water connection. You can get one of these valves at most RV parts stores like Camping World or a hardware store. As a temporary fix you could buy a solid cap with garden hose threads that screws into the city water connection, or use the cover that should already be there to prevent the back flow until you can replace the check valve.
We had a similar situation. So we replaced the check valve.
Faucet Adapter (Kitchen Sink to Garden Hose): : Home & Kitchen
You should see it sticking up through your roof somewhere near the sink. In a newer house, it may be vented with a 1 way air intake valve instead of going to the roof. If it’s done inside the wall, the valve must be accessible through a panel from either the inside or outside wall. It sounds like you have a buildup of grease and food debris in the trap that’s beginning to restrict the water flow through the pipe.
When the disposer is on, water is being pushed into the drain pipe faster than it can get through the restriction in the trap caused by the build up.
This method is cheaper than the antifreeze method and you won’t have to flush the antifreeze taste out of your water system come spring.
Access Denied Sink faucet hook up hoses A line can be connected to both the hot water handle and the cold water handle, though obviously there will be no hot water. Thanks for the tip! Apply teflon tape to the narrow end of the straight connector then connect it to the narrow end of the faucet connector water supply line. The bucket will overflow instead of allowing water to back up into the sink.
Fix this by cutting the drain pipe shorter, leaving a gap between the drain and top rim of sink faucet hook up hoses. It is such an easy set-up and I cannot help but be excited over the fact that having an outdoor sink is so convenient! Did dating a ladies man rip them down? Just finishing an outdoor kitchen section of a covered deck project, this is next on my list.
